Who we are

Alex Hall
With an extensive eight years’ experience in the Australian auction landscape through various auction houses, Alex Hall presents a skill set that compliments Henleys Auction House. Having experience with the auctioning of automobilia, motor vehicles, number plates and various collectibles, Alex Hall is equipped to begin a new chapter in the Australian auction scene. Specifically, the generation and execution of auctions through cataloguing, photography, promotion and final lot disbursement ensures that a new auction house will operate with sound foundations.

Alex has eighteen years as an owner and director of four Subway stores both locally and interstate and gained a strong business acumen during this period. Managing in excess of sixty people to profitably operate such restaurants, management expertise has been obtained and bodes well for a transition into another industry that requires people skills. Further capability was also obtained with exposure to accounting/bookkeeping, marketing and promotion, and the emphasis on strong customer service. Salesmanship has also been garnered through working in the new car industry.

Elliott Hughes
A former native of London and the progeny of antique dealers, Elliott has been steeped in the world of antiques and the vibrant auction houses of England’s south coast from a young age.
His career journey includes an extended tenure in the hospitality industry and the completion of an Industrial Design degree, with a specialization in furniture design. Subsequently, Elliott embarked on his professional path at one of Melbourne’s most esteemed auction houses as a casual auction room attendant. Demonstrating exceptional dedication, he swiftly advanced from roles in the storeroom and administration to becoming a specialist in decorative arts.
Following the unfortunate closure of this auction house, Elliott was instrumental in establishing a new auction house, Gibsons, alongside his former manager, Jenny Gibson.
With years of extensive experience, Elliott possesses a profound knowledge of auctions and the enthralling, unique experiences that come with running them.

Stefan Maric
Stefan brings five years of in-depth experience in the Australian auction industry. His background in auctioning automobilia, motor vehicles, number plates, and various collectibles positions him to make a significant impact in the Australian auction scene. Stefan’s expertise spans the entire auction process, from cataloguing and photography to promotion and final lot disbursement, ensuring that any auction house he’s involved with will have a solid foundation for success.
In addition to his auction expertise, Stefan has ten years of experience running a printing company. This experience has honed his skills in business operations, project management, and customer relations, further strengthening his ability to manage complex processes and deliver quality results. Management expertise, garnered through working in the printing industry, bodes well for a transition into another industry that requires strong people skills. Further capability was also obtained with exposure to accounting/bookkeeping, marketing and promotion, and an emphasis on strong customer service.
